William "Bill" Alfred Maki, 86, of Pengilly, MN, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015 in his home surrounded by family. He was born April 14, 1928 in Palo, MN to William and Josephine (Williams) Maki Tusa. He went to high school in Cherry, MN and married Jean Haigh. He served in the Merchant Marines and worked on the ore boats before working for the Hanna Mining Co. as a warehouse clerk. Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and picking. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Jean Maki; son, Dudley Maki; and sister, Arlene Tusa. Bill is survived by his son, William (Roxann) Maki of Esko, MN; daughters, Fayetta Maki of Pengilly, MN, Cindy (Kevin) Lorence of Goodland, MN, Valerie Maki of Meadowlands, MN, Pamela (Phillip) Cochran of Coleraine, MN; daughter-in-law, Michelle Maki; sister, Renee Rootes of Virginia, MN; grandchildren, Devlin Clark, Billie Jo Doyle, Wes Lorence, Celeste Sondgeroth, Carrissa Hansen, Cami Serre, Belinda Kitzerow, Jessica Maki, Travis Pintar, William Maki, Jr., Hannah and Kayleigh Maki, David Maki, Lizzy, Becky and Corinne Maki; 8 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 26th, 2015 at Pengilly United Methodist Church, 31870 Jefferson Blvd, Pengilly, MN. Visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Pastor Dawn Houser officiating.
