Wilfrid Raymond Fossum, age 91 of Grand Rapids, formerly of Aitkin, MN, passed away peacefully at Majestic Pines Senior Living on Wednesday, September 13, 2023.

Wilfrid was born in 1932, to Edward and Florence Fossum in Aitkin, Minnesota. He grew up in the Aitkin area and attended and graduated from the local schools. After high school, Wilfrid traveled to the Dakota's where he was a linesman for two years. He then joined the U.S. Army, at the age of 20, where he served for two years. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to Aitkin area where he worked for 42 years as a lineman/manager for Aitkin Public Utilities.

Wilfrid was a member of the Aitkin VFW and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed gardening with his daughter, hunting with family, and spending time with family and friends. He was a man that could never say no to helping others in need. Wilfrid will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Irene; and brother, Wayne. Wilfrid is survived by his children, Annette (Jim) Forkel, Colleen (Tim) Duffney, Charlene (Jeff) Trotter, and Alan Fossum; brother, Warren Fossum; 11 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren.

Per Wilfrid's request no services will be held. A private burial will be held at a later date.
