Warren J. Hegman, 84 of Grand Rapids, formerly of Superior, Wisconsin, passed away August 28, 2012 after a battle with cancer. Warren J. Hegman, 84 of Grand Rapids, formerly of Superior, Wisconsin, passed away August 28, 2012 after a battle with cancer. Warren was born in Aitkin, MN on July 11, 1928 to August and Agnes Hegman. He graduated from Aitkin High School. He served in the Army in the Korean War. Warren worked as a printer for the Duluth News Tribune and in 1982 moved to Grand Rapids where he was circulation manager. After retiring he spent 14 years at the Forest History Center in Grand Rapids where he was fondly known as "Oscar". Warren will be remembered by his love for the Lord, his family and friends, sharing his many stories, and his wonderful sense of humor. He was a member of Grace Bible Chapel and a faithful member of their Men's Prayer Breakfast. Warren was preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly Jean; his parents, and two brothers Richard and Delmer. He is survived by his wife Clarene; three children, Tom (Bonnie) Hegman of Princeton, Minn., Bonnie (Dan) Schmidt of Rockford, Minn., and Jill Hegman of Baldwin, Wisconsin; grandson, Dan (Angel) Hegman; great-grandchildren Kaelyn, Domenic, and Morgan; a brother David (Jane) Hegman, a sister Laurel Hegman McKay; several nieces and nephews; and children from his second marriage, Judy (John) Meads, Jane (Jim) Higbe, Mary (Mark) Dorholt, Anne (Robert) Dowless and Nathan (Carolyn) Nyberg; eleven grand children and one great-grandson. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Itasca Hospice. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday August 31, 2012 in the Libbey Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service on Saturday September 1 in Grace Bible Chapel, Grand Rapids.
