Tyne Fredrickson, 85, of Vermillion, South Dakota Tyne Fredrickson, 85, of Vermillion, South Dakota, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2009. Tyne was born in Wawina, Minn. to David and Fanny Sipinen. She attended Wawina School and worked in Duluth and later Minneapolis after leaving home. She married LuVerne Fredrickson in 1952. She enjoyed writing to pen-pals and going to Bible studies. Tyne was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, John Sipinen, and sisters, Edna Heino and Beverly Sipinen. Surviving family includes sisters, Helia Matthew, Irene Nelson, Lillian (Lewis) Gilliard, and Bernice Lepisto, all of Minneapolis, Florence (Jack) Carlson of Hibbing, and Judith (Edwin) Lukkonen of Ely; stepsons, Gayle (Brenda) of Sioux City, Iowa and Gene (Mary) of Spokane, Wash; seven step-grandchildren; 14 step-great grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild. Visitation is from 1:00 until the 2:00 p.m. service on Saturday October 17 in the Libbey Funeral Home. Burial: Wawina Cemetery.
