Thomas
Lobnitz
d. Dec 28, 2024
Grand Rapids
It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we remember and honor the life of Thomas "Tom" Lobnitz, age 65, who passed away after a courageous and enduring battle with brain cancer, surrounded by family on Saturday, December 28, 2024. Tom's strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit inspired all who had the privilege of knowing him. He now lives pain and worry free in our cherished memories of him and through his legacy.
Tom's legacy is built on the love he shared with his family, including his treasured wife, Carmen; and their children, Tim (Bri) Lobnitz, Kelly (Matt) Thornton, Kristy (Mike) Streveler, Monica Casper, Chauntel Casper; many grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Their support and devotion to Tom throughout his illness was a testament to the deep bond they shared. Indeed, Tom's last wish was clear and unequivocal: to see his kids. After rushing to be by his side, they were there with him, holding his hand, as he peacefully transitioned.
Though Tom is no longer with us in body, he remains in spirit—through every memory, every laugh, and every moment that made him the extraordinary man he was. He was a man of deep integrity, someone who put his family first (with hunting and fishing a distant second), and always offered his support and love without hesitation. His kindness, humor, and strength will forever live in his friends' and family's hearts, in the stories they tell, in the love they continue to feel for him, and in remembrance of the fight he so fiercely fought.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Phyrn; brother, Bill; and sister, Erma.
To celebrate the life Tom lived, a visitation will be held at Libbey Funeral Home, on Saturday, January 4, 2024 beginning at 1:00 PM and lasting until the 2:00 PM memorial service.
Rest in peace, Tom. You are deeply missed but never forgotten.
