Thomas G. Arnold, 92 of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, passed away at Evergreen Terrace in Grand Rapids on Friday, May 21, 2010. Thomas G. Arnold, 92 of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, passed away at Evergreen Terrace in Grand Rapids on Friday, May 21, 2010. Tom was born and raised in Saginaw, Michigan and graduated from Carleton College at Northfield, Minnesota in 1939. He served as a First Lieutenant in the Fifth Armored Division in WWII. After the war Tom worked for a film delivery service in Kalamazoo until 1960 when he began working as an investment counselor. After retiring in 1970 he and his wife, Dorothea, moved to Wabana Lake where he spent many summer hours fishing. Survivors include his daughter, Barbara Arnold of Deer River; son, Tom (Cheryl) Arnold of Swanville, MN. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Dorothea in February, 2010; and by his sister Betsey Arnold. A private family service is planned.
