Sheldon T. Jarva, Sr., 71, of Bigfork, Minn., died peacefully in the Minneapolis Veterans Medical Center on Friday, September 30, 2011. Private services were held. Sheldon T. Jarva, Sr., 71, of Bigfork, Minn., died peacefully in the Minneapolis Veterans Medical Center on Friday, September 30, 2011. Sheldon was born in Grand Rapids, Minn., the only son of Laurie and Phyllis Jarva. During his four years in the United States Air Force, Sheldon met and married his wife, Shari. They raised three sons, Sheldon, Jr., Scott, and Stacy, on their property on the Bigfork River. Sheldon was a proud veteran and a member of VFW Post 1764 in Bigfork. He was preceded in death by his son, Sheldon, Jr. in 2009, and his parents. Surviving family includes his wife, Shari; two sons, Scott and Stacy; seven grandchildren, Jessica Brence, Karlee, Jared, Jeff, and Kyle Jarva, and Emily and Rosie Jones; and one great-grandson, Mike Brence.
