Sharon Lee (O'Brien) Gardner went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 22, 2014. She was born at the family home in Cohasset, Minnesota on November 9, 1942, daughter of Clement and Beth O'Brien. Sharon grew up in Cohasset and graduated from the Grand Rapids High School. Sharon loved the Lord and her goal was to live for Him and to serve Him. After high school she attended Northwestern Bible College until she met her future husband and lifelong companion, LeRoy Gardner. They were married in Cohasset on November 4th, 1961. They had four children, when they decided to go to Bible School in Pambrun, Saskatchewan, Canada, to become full time servants of the Lord. After graduation, they became affiliated with Village Missions and Lee was given his first pastorate at Verndale, Minnesota. Other churches where they served were in Loma, Colorado, Bassett, Nebraska, Bruneau, Idaho, and Lake Head, California. While at Loma, Colorado, they lost their oldest son Jeffrey in a drowning accident while he was on a mission to northern Mexico near Brownsville, Texas. They served with Village Missions for about 20 years. Then they decided to join the team for Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry where Lee was a Midwest representative for the organization. Sharon traveled with him most of the time. They really enjoyed this ministry and one of the highlights was a trip to Israel to tour the Holy Land. They faithfully served with this mission until Lee's death on May 29th 2013. Sharon is preceded in death by her parents Clement and Beth O'Brien, son Jeffrey Gardner, husband LeRoy Gardner, and brother Terry O'Brien. She is survived by her children, Kevin Gardner of Bowling Green, KY, Cindy (Darwin) Davies of Tillsenburg, ON, Philip (Tali) Gardner of Kankakee, IL, and nine grandchildren. Alisha, (Andrew),Melane (Lain), Brandon, Curtis, Shaleace , Eian, Natalie, Caleb and James. Also brothers Clement (Darlene) O'Brien of Lake George CO., Robert (Caroline) O'Brien of Anoka MN,, Keith (Diane) O'Brien, and sisters Marilyn (Dale) Harthan of Philipsburg MT and Kathy (Rod) South of Grand Rapids MN.
