Ruth Irene Neumann, 102, died January 8, 2010, in Columbia Heights, MN, with family at her side. Ruth Irene Neumann, 102, died January 8, 2010, in Columbia Heights, MN, with family at her side. She was born June 12, 1907, in Kottke Valley Township, McHenry County, North Dakota, to Emma Pemberton and Robert William Reynolds. Ruth lived in Grand Rapids most of her adult life, where her husband ran Neumann's Mill and Lumber Company, first on the West End and then east of Itasca-Calvary Cemetery, in LaPrairie. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Walter August Neumann; nine sisters and brothers, Ellen, Mabel, Ethel, Melvin, Lawrence, Theodore, Ernest, Lillian and Grace; and a son, Everett. She is survived by her son Kenneth (Marjorie), daughters Esther Probst, Myrtle Berndt, Irene (Louis) Arabanos, 21 grandchildren and many dozens of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren. Visitation and services were held on Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at Libbey Funeral Home. Burial was in Itasca-Calvary Cemetery in Grand Rapids. Libbey Funeral Home, Grand Rapids, MN.
