Ruth Marie Gibson, 63, of Grand Rapids, Minnesota passed away on Saturday Feb. 23, 2013 in Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital surrounded by loved ones. Ruth was born in St. Louis, Missouri on March 15, 1949 to Marion and Roy Gibson. She grew up on her parent's farm, attended area schools and worked in a sheltered workshop. Ruth moved to Grand Rapids in 1990 and lived with her sister, Roberta Curran-Kaiser and husband, Dale Kaiser. In 2000 Ruth moved into a Lutheran Social Service home in Grand Rapids. She worked at ODC from 2001 to 2012. She loved her "research," her family and friends and will be remembered for her sense of humor "€" she always had us smiling. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Roberta. Survivors include two sisters, Rita (Joe) Konan of Manassas, Virginia and Micki Duke of St. Louis, Missouri; brother-in-law, Dale Kaiser; nieces and nephews including Kathleen (Bradley) Watson; longtime guardian, Jan Larson; her caring staff and friends.
