Ruth Ann Berg, age 81, of Deer River, MN went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, surrounded by family at her residence.

Ruth was born on March 29, 1942 in Winnebago, MN. Her parents, Leonard and Hyacinth Fellbaum, raised her in the Grand Rapids, MN area where she attended school and graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1960. Ruth married the love of her life, James "Jim" Berg on June 3, 1961.

Family was very important to Ruth, she was everyone's mom or grandmother, and she loved them all. Ruth enjoyed knitting, canning, gardening, flowers, and baking bread. Her children loved devouring the dough dots she made for them.

Ruth's favorite activity was heading up the nursery at Church, and in her later years making sure that it was taken care of properly. Ruth was a member of the Deer River Bible Church and formally of Grace Bible Church.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Mary; brother, Ralph "Rollie"; and grandsons, James P. Gibeau and Joseph Menzel. She is survived by her children; Barbara (David) Gibeau, Kathleen (Bruce) Evert, Lori (Keith) Menzel, Tom (Debbie) Berg, and Steve (Carrie) Berg; 14 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; extended family and friends.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 1, 2024, at Libbey Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. It will continue Saturday, March 2, at Deer River Bible Church beginning at 10:00 AM and lasting until the 11:00 funeral service. The burial will be at Wildwood Cemetery.  Rev. Steve Berg will officiate.
