Roger Eugene Lane, 81, of Blackberry, Minn., died Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at his home. Visitation: 10 until the 11 am memorial service on Saturday, October 22 in the Libbey Funeral Home, Grand Rapids. Roger was born in Grand Rapids to Henry S. and Bessie Lane. He graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1948, served in the Minnesota National Guard (1948-1949), and the United States Marine Corps (1952-1954). Roger married Shirley Hannah in Cohasset on Sept. 14, 1954. He worked for Oliver Mining Company and then Blandin Paper Company (32 years) as an electrician. He was preceded in death by his son, Paul; parents; one sister; and five brothers. Surviving family includes his wife of 57 years, Shirley; two sons, Steven (Gail) Lane and Jeff (Terri) Lane; two daughters, Kristyne (Mark) Fulgham and Kathleen (Keith) Hagen; grandchildren, Jesse (Justina) Lane, Dustin (Kaija) Lane, Eric (Melissa) Lane, Adam Lane, Kia Hagen, Rachel Fulgham, and Jenna Fulgham; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Beverly Gravelle; and two brothers, Rex Lane and Jack (Shirley) Lane.
