Roger was born June 6, 1934, in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Carl and Gladys Johnson. Roger lived a life marked by devotion to his family, faith, and community. Roger's faith in his Savior Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of his life. He was an active member of Faith Baptist Church and later Grace Bible Chapel. In his retirement years, he volunteered for Elder Circle, enjoying the ability to help others by driving clients to their destinations.

Roger's love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for hunting and fishing and he enjoyed following sports, especially high school hockey.

He is preceded in death by his wife Carolyn, grandson Andrew Johnson, brother Vern Johnson, sisters-in-law June Abrahamson and MaryAnn Olund, and brothers-in-law Roy Olund and Richard Hyllested.
