Robert Dale Nordskog, 81, of Cohasset, MN passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. He was born December 14, 1931 and lived in Two Harbors, MN until 1939 when he moved to Grand Rapids, MN with his family. He graduated from Grand Rapids Senior High School in 1949. Bob graduated from Itasca Junior College and went to the National Junior College Tournament in Kansas where he was named to the All Star Tournament Basketball Team. He loved sports and was an avid golfer and retired from volleyball at the age of 70. He enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and wintering in Vero Beach, FL. Bob was in the U.S. Navy from 1950-1954 with an honorable discharge. He spent most of his life in Grand Rapids and loved the community. He married the love of his life, Patricia Swenson Halvorson on August 13, 1994. Bob owned Nord (Napa) Auto Parts for 58 years and retired on October 1, 2013. He was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids, MN. He was preceded in death by parents, Ben and Florence Nordskog. Bob is survived by his wife, Patricia "Patsy"; children, Patti Campoverde, Edward (Danielle) Nordskog, Mary "Nell" (James) DeBoer, Rose Nordskog Schumacher and Margaret "Maggie" Blackburn; brother, John Nordskog; sister, Diane (Bill) Castle); 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; step-children, Petra (Tim) Botsford, Thomas (Cindy) Halvorson and Jeffrey (Tia) Halvorson; 9 step-grandchildren; 7 step-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
