Richard "Dick" Mericle, 86, of Finlayson, MN, passed away on Saturday, Mary 28, 2016 at Grand Village, Grand Rapids, MN. Richard was the last living child of 5 born in Iowa to Frank and Gladys Mericle on April 30, 1930. He met his first wife, Leona Stolt in Iowa and they had 3 children. They later divorced. He married Bonnie of Bloomington, MN and they had 3 children. In 1966, Richard moved to Highland, CA, where they lived until he retired to Finlayson, MN in 2006. Dick was a truck driver whose specialty was household goods. He drove for Atlas Van Lines most of his life. Dick had friends all around the country. He loved hunting, fishing, going to the casino and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dora Palki; brothers, Hollis, Frank "Ike" and Robert; wife, Bonnie Mericle and daughter, Lynn Lucht. Dick is survived by his daughter, Sue (Tom) Koch of Elk River, MN; son, Kent (Suzie) Mericle of Finlayson, MN; son, Doug (Debbie) Mericle of Warba, MN; son-in-law, Larry Lucht of Finlayson, MN; son, Mark Mericle of Sarasota, FL; daughter, Kari K. Garcia (Beverly Battisti Sheldon) of Commerce City, CO; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. At Richard's request, no services will be held.
