Patricia Ann Madsen, 78, of rural Bovey, Minnesota passed away on October 1, 2012 at Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Patricia Ann was born the youngest of five children in 1934 to James and Gertrude Hughes in Chicago, Illinois. In 1952 she was united in marriage to Lynn Bruce Wilson in Chicago. They lived for a short time in the state of Virginia and after Lynn's discharge from the U.S. Navy they moved to Grand Rapids, Minn. Lynn passed away in a car accident in 1958. Patricia was united in marriage to Arnold "Petta" Madsen in 1963. Pat and Petta enjoyed many years as RV snowbirds. Patricia faced a number of difficulties throughout her life, but she never felt defeated. A common saying of hers was "There is always hope." Patricia was proud that seven of her immediate family had served in the military. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Lynn in 1958 and Petta in 2009; her parents; two sisters and a brother. Surviving family includes her children, Lynn (Juanita) Wilson of Grand Rapids, Debra (Dan) Swenson of Lake Park, Minn., David (Wanda) Wilson of Cohasset, Minn., and Daniel Wilson of Grand Rapids; one sister, Gertrude (Edward) Godlewski of Streamwood, Illinois; thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
