Norven Robert Korpi, 99 ", of Grand Rapids, MN passed away Monday, January 7, 2019 at home. He was born in 1919 to Herman and Hanah Korpi in Deer River, MN. After graduating from Deer River High School in 1937, he worked in the Coop Gas Station until going into the Army Air Corps to work on airplanes during WWII. Norven was united in marriage to the love of his life, Rosemary Martin on March 14, 1942. He worked at the Deer River Post Office both as a Clerk and Mail Carrier for over 30 years. Norven enjoyed bowling, playing poker, hunting, fishing, trapping, and visiting with friends. He enjoyed hugs very much. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Rosemary Korpi; baby girl, Sherie; parents; brothers, Herman, Nelse and Martin; sisters, Millie and Edyth; and son-in-law, Larry Cleveland.

Norven is survived by his 3 daughters, Betty Cleveland, Carol Matanich and Nancy Norvell; 6 grandchildren, Bob and Terry Cleveland, Lori Hasty, Chris and Tony Cassio and Tim Lafferty; 7 great-grandchildren, Sam, Lucien, McAllister, Steve, Stephanie, Tyler, Amanda; 3 gr-great-grandchildren, Helena, Amanda, and Elizabeth; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2019 with a gathering of friends one hour prior to the service all at Salem Lutheran Church, 602 NE 8th Ave, Grand Rapids, MN.
