Nancy L. Mayen, 58 of Bovey,Mn, died Monday October 28, 2013 at Essentia Health in Duluth, Mn after a courageous battle with scleroderma. She was born on April 27, 1955 in Perham, Mn to Gordon and Mary (Klinnert) Johnson and graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1973 and then worked for the Broen Home. She moved to St. Paul, Mn and worked for the Wilder Foundation where she met her husband and soulmate Steven. They moved to Bovey,Mn in 1994 where they bought Mayen's Northvue resort on Big Trout Lake. Nancy was a very witty and spirited person, loved going for walks with her dog, drinking her morning coffee and looking out the window at the loons on the lake. She is preceded in death by her husband Steven, brother Scott and sister-in-law Mary. Nancy is survived by her children Amber (TJ) Jackson of Shoreview, Mn, Monica (Corie) Ross of Cambridge, Mn , Christopher (Nicole) Mayen of New London, Mn, and Alexander Mayen of Willmar, Mn, parents Gordon and Mary Johnson of Fergus Falls, Mn, sisters Susan (Windell) Paul of White Bear Lake, Mn, Laurie (David) Lund of West Fargo,ND, Judy (Jim) Bittner of Prairie Farm, Wi and 8 grandchilren who were the light of her life, many nieces and nephews and special friends Terry (Bill) Berg, Melanie (Rex) Kastner and Alida Zimmerman.
