Mona Rae (Broksieck) Salo, 73, of Cohasset, MN passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2015 in Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth, MN. She was born March 6, 1942 in Watertown, SD to Clarence and Susanna (Ruesink) Broksieck. She graduated from Goodwin, SD High School. Mona married Roger Salo on August 10, 1963 in Bemis, SD. She was a devoted stay at home Mom and then worked for State Farm Insurance until her retirement. She was an active member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, Grand Rapids, MN. She enjoyed playing Mahjong, flower gardening, golfing, traveling, and working out. Mona loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends. She took pride in taking care of herself, her family and her surroundings. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mona is survived by her husband, Roger Salo; son, Brett (Laurie) Salo of Cohasset, MN; daughter, Marcy (Greg) Salo-Lindsoe of Woodbury, MN; brothers, Ron Broksieck of Stockton, MO, Gayle (Wendy) Broksieck of Madison, WI; nine grandchildren, Samuel, Marissa, Jackson, Bergen, Eden, Cole, Natalie, Cori, and Nicole; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 14th, 2015 at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 501 NW 16th St, Grand Rapids, with a gathering of friends one hour prior to the service.
