Obituary

Mary Lou Stephens, age 94, formerly of Calumet and Grand Rapids, MN passed away Monday, July 13, 2026, at NorBella Senior Living, Savage, MN.

Mary Lou was born in 1932 to Frank "Archie" and Pearl Peters in Traverse County, MN. She attended school in Chokio, MN until leaving to care for her dad and family. Mary Lou was united in marriage to Sam Stephens on June 25, 1949, in Morris, MN. They settled in Calumet and lived there for 67 years, where they raised their 9 children. In September 2019, she moved to The Emeralds in Grand Rapids and later to NorBella Senior Living in Savage, MN.

Mary Lou enjoyed baking, spending time at their second home in Florida, serving the Lord, and spending time with her family and friends.

Mary Lou is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sam; brothers, Merlin, Harley, David; sisters, Hazel, Rosella, Virene, Janet, Dianne; grandson, Logan Stephens and great-granddaughter, Alexa Jerulle.

She is survived by her children, James (Rae) Stephens, Gerald (Dana) Stephens, Peggy (Dave) Prestidge, Randy Stephens, Ron (Mary) Stephens, Jeff Stephens, Mark Stephens, Michael (Terry) Stephens, Pam Dvorak; sister, Leila Haigh; 27 grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Grace Bible Chapel, Grand Rapids, MN followed by the 12 p.m. funeral service. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine, MN.
