Louise M.
Plagemann
d. Oct 5, 2024
Grand Rapids
Louise M. Plagemann, age 89, of Grand Rapids, MN passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 5, 2024, in the arms of her son, Greg, knowing she would soon be meeting her Lord and Savior.
Louise was born in 1935 in Hibbing, Minnesota to Harvey and Lucille Hodgson. She graduated from Greenway High School in Coleraine, MN. In 1953, she was united in marriage to Duane Plagemann. Louise and Duane made their home in Palo, MN for 30 years and she enjoyed working in their floral shop in Aurora, MN. Louise and Duane moved to Duluth where she ran a gift shop on North Shore Drive, with her husband and aughter, Deb. In recent years, Louise and Duane moved to Grand Rapids, MN to be closer to family.
Louise was an avid reader of all her favorite books, especially her well-worn Bible which was her guide through life, and her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and beloved cats. Louise's faith in Christ and love for her family brought her much strength throughout her life. Her smile and kindness touched everyone she knew or met. Louise's love for the Lord beamed about her. She was always concerned about others and prayed for them often no mater if she was sick, in pain, or sorrow. She would never complain but instead asked if you were O.K. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her. Her smile, kindness, laughter, love, and willingness to share her faith in God will never be forgotten. Louise looked forward to meeting the Lord and that glorious day for her has finally come.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Duane; daughter, Debbie Plagemann; two sisters, Donna Trunzo and Carol Lindquist.
Louise is survived by son, Greg (Susan) Plagemann; sister, Phyllis (Carl) Hartmark; brother, Ken (Mary) Hodgson; brother-in-law, Bernie Lindquist; 5 grandchildren, Mandi (Nate) Davis, Alisha (Tim) Wicklund, Megan (Justin Dahl) Plagemann, Christopher (Kayla) Plagemann, and Jonathon Plagemann; 4 great grandchildren, Aftyn, Brinley, Tatum, and Harley.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 11, 2024, beginning at 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service at Libbey Funeral Home, Grand Rapids, MN. Dan Radtke will officiate. Burial will be in Itasca-Calvary Cemetery, Grand Rapids, MN.
