Londa L. Johnston

Londa L. Johnston, age 79 of Grand Rapids, entered into Heaven September 26, 2026. She was born in Salem, Oregon on December 6, 1946, to David and Cassie (Karcha) Bain. She was a kind and compassionate woman, known for her humorous personality.

Londa was blessed with three children, Gary, Shawna, and Allison. She was a hospital night cook and server in Eugene, OR, for almost 20 years before retiring. She married Gary Johnston, and the couple completed each other. Eventually, Londa and Gary moved to Minnesota in 2017 to continue their life together. They were married for 36 years.

Londa enjoyed collecting things such as cookbooks, recipes, and especially earrings. She had a large collection and was proud of them. Additionally, she loved games (just not losing). She enjoyed playing 31 with family and friends, and kicking Gary under the table when he cheated. Most importantly, she loved her family and spending time with them.

She is preceded in death by her parents, David and Cassie, and brother David Bain.

Londa is survived by her beloved husband Gary; Son Gary Marshall; Daughters Shawna (Richard) Jones, Allison (Andy) Peterson; Grandchildren Brandon, Corey (Rachel), Sidney (Andrew), Madison (Joe), Drake; Great-Grandchildren Benji, Charlotte, Joel.

We will always carry her in our hearts. Her love was always there no matter the difficult situations she was facing with her illness. We are thankful that she was able to spend her last days in her home surrounded by those she loved. As she took her last breath on this earth, we were comforted knowing she took her first breath in Heaven with Jesus.

Until we reunite again, you will always be loved and never forgotten.
