Lloyd George "Ike" Hill, 87, of Grand Rapids, Minnesota passed away on Thursday May 2, 2013. Lloyd was born in Spang Township, Minnesota to Benjamin and Agnes Hill. He attended school in Wendigo and Grand Rapids. He served in the Army in WWII, first in Europe and then in the South Pacific. Lloyd was united in marriage to Evelyn Erven on March 29, 1947. They moved to Sterling, Illinois in 1948 where Lloyd was a steelworker at Northwestern Steel and Wire Company until retiring in 1980. He moved to Grand Rapids in 1983. Lloyd enjoyed gardening, bowling, playing solitaire, and was an avid cribbage player. Lloyd was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Evelyn in 2002; two great-granddaughters, Michaela Sasheen Hill and Kaatia Diane Crouse; five brothers, Tim, Louis, William, Charles, and Donald; and three sisters, Ida Kimberly, Shirley Mader, and Laura Foss. He is survived by two sons, Steven (Diana) Hill of Grand Rapids and Carl Hill of DeKalb, Illinois; two daughters, Penny (Charles) Pelton of DeKalb and Rhonda Wilkinson of Elgin, Illinois, 13 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
