Linda Carol Baker, 65, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2010 at Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital. Born July 9, 1945 in Denver, CO, she was the daughter of Robert and Loiselta (Saupe) Harsh. Linda grew up in Long Beach, CA, was a 1963 graduate of Banning High School, prior to meeting her husband Kenny of 47 years. Linda and Kenny were married on Nov. 29, 1963 in California. They moved to Grand Rapids, MN in 1968, where she was an active member of the Jaycees, and American Legion Auxiliary. Ken and Linda owned the Fireside Inn Restaurant in the 1970's, after selling that business, she cooked at the Sawmill Inn of Grand Rapids for over 20 years. Ken and Linda moved to their dream farm in 1991, where they raised quarter horses for many years. Linda enjoyed sewing, making drift-wood clocks, fishing, cooking, horses, little dogs, bingo, margaritas and spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Loiselta Harsh; her mother and father-in-law, Robert and Clarabelle (Tudy) Baker; brother-in-law Melvin Baker, and nephew, Keith Lemler. Survivors include her loving husband, Kenneth; sister, Karen (Brian) Prince of Riverside, CA, brother, Ron (Linda) Harsh of Santa Cruz, CA; children, Doug (Jennifer) Baker of Grand Rapids, Deb Baker of Grand Rapids, Diane (Danny) Strong of Cynthiana, KY; grandchildren, Kaya, Julia, Jacob, Emma, and Jack; Eddie, Levi, Laci, and many other family and friends. She will always be affectionately remembered as, "Grandma Horses." Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010 at Libbey Funeral Home in Grand Rapids. Funeral Services with Pastor Paul Haddix officiating to follow at 11 a.m., at Libbey Funeral Home, and lunch will be served at Noon at the American Legion in Grand Rapids.
