LESTER GEORGE HILDEN, 56, of Grand Rapids, Minnesota passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Grand Itasca Hospital, Grand Rapids, MN.

Lester was born in 1963 in Minneapolis, MN to Robert and Charlotte Hilden. He attended school at Greenway. Lester began his career as a chef working along side his mom at her restaurant, Miner"s Diner. Lester moved to Minneapolis, MN and continued working as a cook in various restaurants in Minneapolis, MN. In 1985, Lester met the love of his life, Kathy Tessling. In 1996, Lester and Kathy moved to Grand Rapids, MN and owned and operated the Country House. Also, Lester later worked for the Fourth Street Station, Clementine"s, and Toivo"s. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert; his son, Lynn "Skip" Hulen; and many cousins.

Lester is survived by his longtime companion and significant other, Kathy Tessling; daughter, Kassie (Mark) Gunderson of Grand Rapids, MN; mother, Charlotte Hilden of Calumet, MN; sister, Nancy Stitt of Calumet, MN; brother, Richard Hilden of Calumet, MN; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; one niece, Kelly Stitt; one nephew, John Hilden;

A celebration of Lester"s life will be held at Toivo's Restaurant on Saturday, February 15, 2020 from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM.
