Leonard A. Fellbaum, age 101, of Cohasset and Grand Rapids, went home to be with the Lord on March 6, 2011. Len was born at Sisseton, South Dakota. He moved to Duluth where he attended school until the eighth grade and then helped on the family farm. Somewhere he picked up the printing trade. He worked for Marshall Wells in Duluth and after a short time taught printing in Washington Junior High School. In 1938 he married Hyacinthe. They moved to a small apartment and Len worked at Stuart Taylor until 1943 when he was inducted into the Army. He served in Europe, was wounded in France, and after recovering he was put in charge of an Army print shop in Germany. After the war Len and Hy moved to Grand Rapids where Len went to work for the Herald-Review. They moved to Bass Lake in 1956. Len retired from the newspaper after 28 years of service. Len was a life member of the D.A.V. and a member of Grace Bible Chapel where he served as Sunday School secretary / treasurer, usher, and spent many years working with the A.W.A.N.A. program. Leonard was preceded in death by Hyacinthe, his wife of 70 years; a daughter; a granddaughter, two brothers and three sisters. He is survived by a daughter, Ruth (Jim) Berg of Cohasset; nine grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 9 in Libbey Funeral Home and Thursday, March 10 from 10 until the 11 a.m. Funeral Service in Deer River Bible Church, Deer River, Minnesota. Burial is in Wildwood Cemetery, Cohasset.
