Obituary

Kenneth "K.B." William Baker, 72, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Grand Village. He was born August 19, 1943 in Grand Rapids, MN, to Robert and Clarabelle "Tudy" (Shook) Baker. KB grew up in Grand Rapids, and the family moved to Cohasset in 1956. He graduated Mariposa High School in California, prior to marrying his wife Linda of 47 years. Kenny and Linda were married on Nov. 29, 1963 in California. They moved to Grand Rapids, Minn., in 1968, where he was an active member of the Jaycees, the Moose Club and American Legion. Ken and Linda owned the Fireside Inn Restaurant in the 1970's, and he was a Frito-Lay Salesman for over 30 years. After retirement, he worked part-time as a bartender at RC's Silver Spur. Ken and Linda moved to their dream farm in 1996, wher e they ra is ed quarter horses for many years. Ken enjoyed fishing, hunting, horses, dogs of all sizes, pot-belly pigs, word puzzles, bingo, Captain Coke and spending time with his family and friends. Preceding him in death were his wife Linda; parents, Robert and Clarabelle "Tudy" Baker; brothers Melvin and Robin Baker; nephew, Keith Lemler; in-laws Robert & Loiselta Harsh; brother-in-law Daniel Erspamer. Survivors include his brother Gary Baker of Ogilvie; sister Linda Erspamer of Duluth; sister Cheryl (Denny) Lemler of Cohasset; children, Doug (Jennifer) Baker of Grand Rapids; Deb Baker of Grand Rapids; Diane (Danny) Strong of Georgetown, KY; grandchildren, Kaya, Julia, Jacob, Emma, and Jack; and many other family and friends. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, January 24 at Andrews-Libbey Funeral Home in Grand Rapids. Funeral Services with Chaplain Mark Shuey officiating to follow at 2 p.m., at Andrews-Libbey Funeral Home. Celebratory gathering and food to be served at 3:30 p.m. at the American Legion in Grand Rapids.
