John "Jack" S. Erholtz, 86, of Grand Rapids, MN died Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Sugar Brook Villa Assisted Living. He was born on March 22, 1930 in Blackberry, MN to John and Marie (Herschbach) Erholtz. He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees and was employed by Dairyland Electric Co-op for 43 years. He enjoyed working his Christmas tree farm and hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; his second mother, Genevieve (Herschbach) Erholtz; sister, Doris Smith; brothers, David and Arvid Erholtz; and an infant daughter, Ann Marie Erholtz. Jack is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Erholtz; daughters, Lorrayne (Ken) Ingram of Rosemount, MN and Sandra McLaughlin of Dilworth, MN; sons, James of Grand Rapids, MN and Richard of San Antonio, TX; granddaughters, Cathy Ingram, Robin Stern and Dayna McLaughlin; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Alice Plath of Owatonna, MN, Jane (Ron) Forneris of Grand Rapids, MN, Mary (Les) Whitesel of Akron, IN and Judy (Dave) Childs of Wasilla, AK; brother, Terry (Claudette) Erholtz of McIntosh, MN; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016 at the Blackberry Town Hall. Interment in Hazelwood Cemetery, Blackberry, MN.
