Obituary

Harriet Mae Pickett-Pavlica, age 79, of Bovey, MN passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026 in her home surrounded by love.

Harriet was born in 1946 to Patrick and Lillian Pickett in Detroit Lakes, MN.  She was a natural born caretaker which showed in her career as an LPN and her time as a hospice volunteer.

Harriet loved life and was truly a kind, caring woman who was always willing to help others.  She received great satisfaction driving people to doctor appointment or meetings in the "Harriet Uber."  Harriet was always generous, not only with her time but also financially to local organizations, people in need, donations to the local food shelf and animal rescue services just to name a few.  After her husband, Roger's retirement, they traveled extensively together and she treasured those times after his death. Her caregiving spirit was unstoppable.  Adopting a rescue dog or cat when they needed a home and lots of love, brought her great joy.  The nickname, "Grandma Hot Coffee" always made her smile!

Harriet was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Pavlica and her parents.

She is survived by her children, Tina (Wayne) Riendeau and Darryn (Tricia) Riendeau; grandchildren, Lee (Alisa) Pittman, Kyler Pittman, Jackie (Zach) Rautio, Rodger (Angel) Riendeau and Aidan Andrews; great grandchildren, Alexis, Natalie, Liam and Grace Pittman, Brayden Androsky, Raenette Reigel and Dexter Kimball; brother, Patrick Pickett; sister-in-law, Bonnie (Bob) Sturk; "adopted" sister, Estella Hart; beloved niece, Elizabeth (Ray) Pickett; nephew, Sloan (Melissa) Pickett; great niece, Sian Pickett; many extended family and friends.  She will be dearly missed.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 12 Noon in Libbey Funeral Home, 520 NE 2nd Avenue, Grand Rapids (NOTE THE LOCATION) with a visitation beginning at 11:00 AM until time of the service.  Lunch will be served following the service. Interment will be held at a later date.
