Gordon "Gordy" Bickford, age 86, of Cohasset, MN died Monday, September 23, 2024, at Deer River Health Care Center, Deer River, MN surrounded by family.

Gordy was born in 1938 in Grand Rapids, MN to Harley "HP" and Jennie Bickford where he grew up and attended school. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army in 1956 where he served in Germany until his discharge in 1959. Gordy and Agnes "Aggie" Anderson were united in marriage on August 29, 1964, and together they raised their three children. Gordy worked for the University of Minnesota Agriculture Department for 36 years and then began a garage door service business.

Gordy was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, taking the grandchildren and great grandchildren on four-wheeler rides, watching football and hockey games, and spending time with his family. He religiously got up every morning at 4:30am to go to the Y for his daily exercise and socializing.

Gordy is preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Austin Bickford.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Aggie; son, Tony (Michelle) Bickford; daughters, Jill Bickford, Vicki (Tike) Sutherland, all of Cohasset; sister, Rhonda (Don) Axtell; brothers, Wayne Bickford, Norman (Jean) Bickford; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and eight step-great grandchildren.

Per Gordy's wishes, no services will be held at this time.
