Rev. George John Brandt, age 62, of Ozark, Missouri, formerly Grand Rapids, Minnesota, stepped into Heaven on November 2, 2009 with his family by his side. Rev. George John Brandt, age 62, of Ozark, Missouri, formerly Grand Rapids, Minnesota, stepped into Heaven on November 2, 2009 with his family by his side. He was born Dec. 12, 1946 in Duluth, Minn. to Gunnard and Dorothy (Chumich) Brandt. Dorothy passed away when George was 6 months old. Gunnard married Laverna Babb when George was 18 months old. George was father & mother to his three children Sunday Ann, Paul, and Shelley as he raised them in Staples, Minn. He married the love of his life, Lana Kay Solberg, in May, 1985 and happily added Brian, Karl, Royce, and Elizabeth to the family. George accomplished a dream of his by graduating from RHEMA BIBLE TRAINING CENTER in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma in 1998. While in Broken Arrow he retired from Burlington Northern Santa Fe where he was an Engineer on the railroad for 26 years. George & Lana moved back to Minnesota in 2002 where they Pastored "Lakes Area Word Fellowship" in Grand Rapids, until January, 2009 when they moved to Ozark, Missouri to be near Faith Life Church in Branson, Missouri to sit under Brother Keith Moore's ministry & teaching. He was preceded in death by a son, Paul; parents, Gunnard and Laverna Brandt; and a brother, David. He is survived by his wife Lana Kay Brandt of Grand Rapids, (formerly Ozark, Missouri); children, Brian (Jenny) Solberg & grandchildren, Erica, Stephanie, Aaron, and Isabelle of Circle Pines, Minn., Sunday Ann Pilz & grandchildren, Heather, Tanner & Tell of Chehalis, Washington, Karl (Jeanine) Solberg & grandchildren, Kayla, Blake, Jacob, & Julia of Centerville, Minn., Shelley (Adam) Myers & grandchildren, Ember, Alexa, Dakota, Levi, Zoe, Brit & Gunner of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Royce Solberg & grandchildren, Kelcy, & Angel of Circle Pines, Minn., Elizabeth Solberg & grandchild, Madison of Coleraine, Minn.; sisters, Lori Robinson & Leah Olson of Austin Minn., Melody ( Brian) Williams of Phoenix Ariz., Lisa Johnson of Oklahoma City, Okla., Sister in law: Patty Brandt of Lake Grove, Oregon; and numerous nieces and nephews and adopted sons and daughters In Christ! George touched the lives of so many people. We were truly blessed by God to have this great man walk beside us, mentor us, love us, and laugh with us for 62 years. Visitation is from 12:00 until the 1:00 p.m. service on Friday November 6 in the Eagles Landing Assembly of God Church in Ball Club, Minn. Burial: Itasca-Calvary Cemetery, Grand Rapids.
