Floyd Pierce, Jr., 84, of Cohasset, MN passed away Friday, July 31, 2015 in Grand Village, Grand Rapids, MN. He was born August 3, 1930 in Arlington, Iowa to Floyd, Sr. and Georgia (Roquet) Pierce. He graduated from Grand Rapids High School. Floyd married Gwenith Schaeffer on August 18, 1951 in Cohasset, MN. He worked as a carpenter for many years and retired as a Business Agent for the Carpenter's Union Local # 1864. He was a member of Good News Bible Church in Cohasset, MN. Floyd enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, woodworking and especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gwenith in 2012; parents; son, Jeffrey Pierce in 1975; three grandchildren; and brother, John Pierce. Floyd is survived by his sons, Douglas (Jean) Pierce of Cohasset, MN, Allen (Teresa) Pierce of Deer River, MN; daughters, Lorna (Dennis) Brown of Dora Lake, MN, Patti (Dennis) Hines of Wirt, MN, Carole (Mike) Sura of Grand Rapids, MN, Beth (Randy) Corzine of Cohasset, MN; brother, Larry (Judy) Pierce of Hibbing, MN; sisters, Elaine Lewerenz of Hutchinson, MN, DeEtte (Marvin) Beer and Corene (Victor) Cole both of Grand Rapids, MN; 17 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
