Florence E. Griffis, age 93, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Hopkins, Minnesota passed away Thursday March 17, 2011 at Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Florence was born at Henriette, Minnesota to Carl and Bess Christensen. She was a receptionist and switchboard operator for the Minnesota Twins and Mt. Sinai Hospital in the Twin Cities. She lived in Hopkins from 1956 to 1983 when she moved to Grand Rapids. Florence loved to travel and spend time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two brothers, and a sister. Surviving family includes daughters, Judy (Larry) Glad of Kissimmee, Florida and Joan (Joel) Blair of Tyler, Texas; son, Gerald (Bonnie) Anderson of Grand Rapids; six grandchildren, Lisa Reilly of Minneapolis, Lara Albritton of Tallahassee, Florida, Kim Paulsen of Kansas, Jeff Blair of Denver, Colorado, Corey Anderson of Hermantown, and Carrie Kleman of Avon, Minnesota; and nine great-grandchildren.
