Esther "Tootie" Haskins, age 92, of Grand Rapids, MN, peacefully passed away on August 6, 2024, at Deer River Essentia Medical Center.

Esther Lorraine was born on March 18, 1932, in Buffalo, New York, the daughter of Armand and Lenore L'Italien. In 1949 Esther graduated from Lafayette High School in Buffalo.

In 1950 she was united in marriage with Donald W. Haskins in Ontario, Canada. Esther worked for Moog, Inc. in East Aurora, New York and later worked for and retired from Sears in Fort Myers, Florida.

Beyond her professional life, Esther found joy in various hobbies such as breeding and showcasing cats, enjoying the camaraderie of activities like bowling and bingo. She was an active participant in the Red Hat Society and the Ice Cream Club, fostering friendships that added richness to her life.

Esther is survived by her daughter Susan Tamutis; son Scott (Marcil) Haskins; granddaughter: Karen (Tim) Tinquist; great-grandchildren: Joe, Emma, Haley, Emily, Gary, and Remi; sister-in-law Betty L'Italien; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her husband Donald W; daughter Sharon; grandson Scottie David; brother Robert and sister Patricia; brother-in-law Myron Pastuch.

Memorials preferred to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.

Esther's kindness, warmth, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace. If you are planning to attend, please wear casual blue clothing in honor of Tootie.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 16, 2024, at 1:00 PM with a Memorial Service to follow at 2:00 PM. at Libbey Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Deacon Steve Schuler officiating.
