Eileen Schroeder Darnell, 84, of Grand Rapids, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014 in Diamond Willow Assisted Living. She was born September 25, 1929 to Joel and Mildred (Mostoller) High. She attended Grand Rapids High School. She married Richard Schroeder in 1947. Eileen married Calvin Darnell in 1999. She was a lifetime member of the Warba Presbyterian Church, women's circle and a member of the Warba American Legion Post 432 Auxiliary. She enjoyed embroidery, sewing, bowling and music. She loved spending time with her family and especially with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband of 50 years, Richard Schroeder; 2nd husband, Calvin Darnell; parents; brothers, Glen, Stanley, Chester, Darrell and Milton; sister, Joanne Schroeder-Buss; and grandson, Eric Schroeder. Eileen is survived by her son, Vernon (Cindy) Schroeder of Warba, MN; daughters, Jerilyn (Chris) Kobberdahl of Ironton, MN, Teresa (Jim) Spicer of Cottage Grove, MN, Angie (Torrey) Johnson of Grand Rapids, MN; sister, Rowena Gentry of Sherman Oaks, CA; step-daughters, Guyda Darnell of Little Canada, MN, Linda (Ken) Trembath of Hastings, MN; sisters-in-law, Darlene High-Schroeder, Patricia High, Mary High; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
