Obituary

Duane Robert Oberg, 76, of Cohasset, Minn. went home to be with the Lord on August 2, 2012. Duane was born in Cohasset to Ernest and Lola (Moore) Oberg on March 18, 1936. He married Lynne Tague on October 26, 1957. Duane served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1956, and was stationed in Korea 18 months. He worked for Coca Cola for 20 years and for Itasca County Road and Bridge for 15 years. After retiring in 1995 he and Lynne spent winters in Arizona and Nevada. He loved working in his garden and flower garden. He built two houses for his family, the second one a log cabin in the woods. He had a wood working shop and a metal shop where he spent most of his time. Duane rode a Harley Davidson motorcycle with a sidecar and usually had his favorite dog "Biggins" with him. He and Lynne traveled all over the U.S. on the motorcycle. Duane was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, William Robert Denver, and sister and brother-in-law Jerry and Ole Hultquist. Survivors include his wife, Lynne; their four children, Kim (Roger) Nelson, Randall D. (Shari) Oberg, Kelley (Greg) Denver, and Robb L. (Rene) Oberg, 22 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren (with two more soon to arrive); two sisters, Iris (Tom) Wetherhalt of Spokane, Washington and Beverley (Nick) Himber of Missoula, Montana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
