Duane Raymond Johnsrud, 85, of Grand Rapids, Minn. passed away peacefully at Heritage House Assisted Living in Pequot Lakes on Friday, July 27, 2012. Duane was born in Goodridge, Minnesota to Bennett and Lillian Johnsrud. He married Lorraine Johnsrud on Sept 10, 1955. They moved to Grand Rapids in 1959. He worked in the mines for Jones and Laughlin Steel until retirement. He then ran welding, gunsmithing and locksmith businesses for many years. He taught welding at Itasca Community college for several years. In his retirement he enjoyed painting, wood carving, hunting and fishing. Duane was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine, daughter, Donna, and his parents. Survivors include four children, David, Houston, TX, Don, Grand Rapids, Darrell (Penny), Camas,WA, and Christine (Larry) Lokken, Grand Rapids; grandchildren Nicholas Johnsrud, Houston, TX, Rick Olds, Osseo, MN, Brett Olds, Minneapolis, MN, Carly Olds, Minneapolis, MN, David Johnsrud, Seattle, WA, Erik Johnsrud, Camas, WA, and Ross Johnsrud, Camas,WA.
