Dorothy Hazel Zobel, 95, of Cohasset, Minnesota passed away Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Grand Village, Grand Rapids, MN.

Dorothy was born in Duluth, Minnesota in 1924 to Frank and Clara Allain. Dorothy grew up in Hill City and graduated from Hill City High School. She met the love of her life, Delbert Zobel, in January 1944, at the Itasca Medical Center, through a coworker. After a whirlwind courtship, the pair was married July 18, 1944. Dorothy and Delbert worked the family dairy farm and was proud to be a "typical farmer"s wife". She loved her enormous flower and vegetable gardens and took great pride in them. Dorothy was employed by the Itasca County Nursing Home and later by Gemini sports in Grand Rapids.

Dorothy was always doing something, she enjoyed camping, playing cards with neighbors, traveling to find a musical to watch, knitting, crocheting, finger weaving rugs, but especially spending time with family and friends. After she retired from IMC, she took up woodworking and was known for playing the accordion. Dorothy was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church in Grand Rapids, where she served as a Deacon for many years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, 3 brothers, 1 sister, 3 nieces, and 2 nephews. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Irene (Gerald) Rehbein; son, Leon (Warren Skallman) Zobel, grandchildren, David (Jolleen) Lyons, and Jaime (Lee) Sobolik; 6 great grandchildren, Jaclyn, Lee, Michael, Michelle, Christine, and Forest.

Visitation will be Friday, January 31, 2020 at Community Presbyterian Church in Grand Rapids, beginning at 10:00 A.M. and lasting until the 11:00 A.M. funeral service. Reverend Arlin Talley will officiate.
