Dorothy Alice (Milton) Jensen, age 98, passed away peacefully at her home in Grand Rapids on February 14, 2026.
She was born to Floyd and Florence Milton on May 9, 1927, in Worthington, MN. In her teens, Dorothy moved with her family to Grand Rapids, where her parents owned and operated The Comfort Cove Resort. Dorothy graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1945.
In 1946 she married Russell Jensen. The couple settled in Grand Rapids where they raised their four children. Dorothy was a member of The First Church of God and served as the church treasurer for several years.
Dorothy was proceeded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell; sisters, Jean Newton and Edith Akre; stepmother, Elizabeth Milton; and niece, Becky (Akre) Phillips.
She is survived by daughters; Rose (Bud) LaFrenierre of Grand Rapids, Judy (Steve Tate) Waters of Sartell, MN, and Brenda (Bill) Adams of Arlington, TX and son, Bruce (Ann) Jensen of Farmington, MN; sister, Lynn (Steve) Brekke of Lakeville, MN and brother, Tom (Bonnie) Milton of Maple Grove, MN, as well as grandchildren, Michael (Shari) LaFrenierre of Grand Rapids, Cheryl (Ed) Bunes of Cohasset, Sandra Waters (Jonathan) Bredin of St Paul, Alexandra (Joe) Warden of Lakeville, Russell Jensen of St Paul, Angelina Jensen (Michael) Anderson of Farmington, Matthew (Brandy ) Adams of Cocoa, FL, Brett (Christina) Adams of Fairbanks, AK, and David (Lissette) Adams of Arlington, TX. Dorothy is also survived by many great-grandchildren, great-great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Dorothy spent her later years at River Grand Senior Living. She loved her life there and made many friends. Her family wishes to thank the River Grand staff for the excellent care and kindness their mother received. The family also wishes to express their gratitude to St. Croix Hospice for the invaluable support they provided to Dorothy and her loved ones these past weeks.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 20 at The First Church of God 609 NW 4th Ave, Grand Rapids, at 10:30 am.
