Dorothy Ann Louise (Marsden) Bunes, age 89, of Grand Rapids, passed peacefully into the presence of her loving Savior on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Grand Village.

She was born on July 22, 1936, to Cecil and Olga Marsden. Dorothy grew up rooted in faith and family – values that guided her throughout life.

Dorothy was employed at the Occupational Development Center for 20 years, where she met the love of her life, Lyle Bunes. They were united in marriage in 1989 and shared a devoted and loving life together.

She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, infectious laugh, and exquisite hand-embroidered creations. Above all, Dorothy loved the Lord and was deeply committed to a personal relationship with Christ. Faith was the foundation of her life and a testimony to all who knew her.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle; parents, Cecil and Olga Marsden; brother, Don Marsden; and nephew, David Marsh.

She is survived by her sisters, Darlene Marsters, Darla (Chuck) Millard, and Darrah (Gregory) Smith; sister-in-law, Tobi Marsden; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, on Friday, March 6, 2026, beginning at 10:00 am and lasting until the 11:00 am funeral service. Burial will be at Itasca Calvary Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Patrick Lovejoy will officiate.
