Doris Genevieve Smith, 75, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Blackberry, passed away peacefully in her Pokegama Lake home on Thursday, November 26, 2009. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marie in 1940, father, John in 1952, and stepmother, Genevieve Erholtz in 2009. Surviving family includes her husband, Bill; children, Theresa (David) Peltier, Balsam, Minn., Thomas Smith of Manalapan, New Jersey, and Brad (Michele) Smith of Grand Rapids; four grandchildren, Paul, Jeff, Nevada, and Kramer; and brothers and sisters, Alice Plath, Owatonna, Jack (Dorothy) Erholtz, Grand Rapids, David (Kathy) Erholtz, Duluth, Jane (Ron) Forneris, Cohasset, Arvid (Connie) Erholtz, Michigan, Mary (Les) Witesell, Indiana, Judy (Dave) Childs, Alaska, and Terry (Claudette) Erholtz, McIntosh, Minn. Visitation 5 to 7 Thursday December 3 in the Libbey Funeral Home. Family burial services will take place on Friday, Dec. 4. A "Celebration of Life" reception for friends and family is from 11:30 until 2:00 p.m. on Friday Dec. 4 at the Timberlake Lodge in Grand Rapids.
