Doris Marilyn (Maki) Jamsa, 87, of Grand Rapids, MN passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Grand Village. She was born April 2, 1931 in Swan River, MN to George and Senia (Ranta) Maki. She graduated from Grand Rapids High School and married William Jamsa on June 24, 1949. She worked for many years at the Hennepin County Social Service office in Minneapolis, MN. Doris and Bill lived in Crystal, MN for 40 years and upon their retirement, they moved to Grand Rapids, MN. They enjoyed traveling in their RV and staying in Texas during the Winter months. She was an active member of Salem Lutheran Brethren Church. Doris was an artist, seamstress, pianist and enjoyed all music. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Arlene Knopp. Doris is survived by her husband of 68 years, William Jamsa of Grand Rapids, MN; son, Terence Jamsa of Crystal, MN; daughter, Tami (Larry) Larrabee of Isanti, MN, brothers, David (Judy) Maki of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Duane (Mary) Maki of Hibbing, MN; sister, Shirley (Harold) Thompson of Grand Rapids, MN; one grandson, Chad Larrabee of Sarasota, FL; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 until the 2:00 p.m. Funeral Service all at Salem Lutheran Brethren Church, 602 NE 8th Ave, Grand Rapids. Pastor Roy Johnson officiating.
