Donovan Lyle Hare, 65, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 7, 2018. Don was born on July 6, 1953 in Grand Rapids to Donovan and Alma Hare. He lived in Boy River until moving to Grand Rapids in 1960. Don graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1971 and from the Thief River Falls Vo-Tech Program in 1973 where he met and married Honey in 1974. They moved to Grand Rapids in 1975 and started Progressive Builders where they built many homes and developments. Don was a kind soul who loved to laugh, have a good time and spend time with family and friends. Papa Don loved his grand kids with all his heart. He enjoyed spending time at his Bear Creek land, keeping up all his lawns, boating, fishing, 4-wheeling, gardening, antiquing and hitting up any garage sale he could find...65 Coleman lanterns and a garage full of "treasurers" are a testament to this! Duncle, as some called him, will be greatly missed and remembered by many family and friends including his daughter, Bri Stacklie, son-in-law, Pete Stacklie, grandchildren, Kanton & Kyra Stacklie, Honey Hare, father, Donovan Hare Sr., sister, Dode (Jerry) Solheim; nephew, Jon (Dyane, Shaden) Solheim, and friend Tammy Rittmiller. Don was welcomed to heaven by his mother Alma Hare, numerous aunts, uncles and special friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 20, 2018 from 4 -7 at his favorite place in the woods...Bear Creek Camp (6165 Co 65 NE, Remer).
