David "Tapper" Johnson, age 57, of Nashwauk, MN passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023 at his home, surrounded by loved ones.

David was born on September 1, 1966 to Duane and Jean Johnson in Minneapolis, MN. He attended Greenway High School in Coleraine, MN. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and the great outdoors. He especially cherished time with his grandchildren, family, and friends.

David's family would like to thank Moments Hospice and Care Team for the amazing care they provided.

David is survived by his children: Joshua (Alicia) Johnson, Jeffery (Haley) Johnson, Jacob (Melissa) Johnson, and Brandy (Mike) Johnson; sisters: Kathy (Todd) Payne, Paula (Donnie) Holmes, and Barbie Johnson; brothers: Tom (Stephanie) Johnson, Billy (Lori) Johnson, and Darwin (Janene) Johnson; 10 grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Jean and Duane Johnson, and brother, Kenneth Michael "Buckwheat" Johnson.

Memorial services will be 11:00 am on Monday, September 25, 2023 at Libbey Funeral Home, Grand Rapids, MN with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Fr. Joseph Sobolik, officiating. Burial will follow at Harris Township Cemetery, Grand Rapids, MN.
