Darrell D. High, 84, of Grand Rapids, Minn., passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, August 20, 2010 at Grand Village in Grand Rapids, Minn. Darrell was born in Grand Rapids, grew up in Warba, Minn. and attended Faribault School for the Blind. He worked as a custodian at Brown and Bigelow in St. Paul, Minn. for many years. Darrell moved to Grand Rapids in 2007. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie; parents, Joel and Mildred High; three brothers, Glen, Chet, and Milton, and a sister, Joanne. Survivors include two daughters, Mildred (Scott) Louden of Nashville, Mich. and Florence Ann Broussard of Iowa; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Stanley (Patricia) High of Bloomington, Minn.; two sisters, Eileen Darnell of Grand Rapids and Rowena Gentry of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Darlene High Schroeder of Robbinsdale, Minn. and Mary High of St. Paul; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday August 22 in the Libbey Funeral Home and 10 until the 11 AM funeral service on Monday August 23, 2010 in the Libbey Funeral Home.
