Dale Allen Howg, 75, of Deer River, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2011 at his home. Memorial service: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 13 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Deer River. Dale worked for J and L Mining for 33 years and owned and operated Howg's Riverside Meats. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, in 2010; infant son, Brian; father, George; a sister, Sheryl; and an infant brother. Surviving family includes his mother, Vearl M. Howg, of Cohasset; children, Allan (Tracey), Deer River, Kelley (DeWayne) Reed, Deer River, Tim (Deb), Grand Rapids, and Shelley (Chris) Kebart, Deer River; fourteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Marilyn (Ron) Geving, Deer River, Valerie (Eugene) Carpenter, Britt, and Sheila (Bob) Deutsch, Cohasset.
