Cindy Lee Buckingham Nelson, age 53, of Grand Rapids, MN passed away on March 21, 2011. Born in Park Rapids, Minnesota, to Don and Elizabeth Buckingham, she graduated from Warren High School in 1975 and Bemidji State University in 1992. Cindy was a valued long-time employee of Rapid Rental & Supply in Grand Rapids. Cindy will be especially remembered for her devotion to her family, loyalty to her friends, and the courageous "never give up" spirit that carried her through her battle with cancer. She loved vacationing on the beach in Florida and always had a good book close by. Survivors include her husband, Darryl Nelson, her son, Brandon (Kara) Hines of Melrose, MN, stepson, Shawn (Becky) Nelson of Grand Rapids, MN, stepson, Jason (Amy) Holden of Oviedo, FL, nine grandchildren, brother, Terry Buckingham of Pine City, MN, and beloved pets Yukon, Sheba and Suzie Q. Cindy's family and friends will celebrate her life at 2 p.m., with visitation beginning at 1:00, on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Grand Rapids Alliance Church, 600 SE 17th Street, Grand Rapids, MN.
