Charles Edward Moen, 78, of Grand Rapids, MN passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Kylar Glen Hospice House. He was born June 22, 1940 in Bemidji, MN to Edward and Eveline (Wintersteen) Moen. Charles graduated from Bemidji High School in 1958 and had married Carol Olson in 1966. He was a member of the Army National Guard. He worked at the Daily Pioneer in Bemidji, MN. Charles worked in production as a millwright for Blandin Paper Company until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of Grace Bible Chapel and was also a leader in AWANA. Charles played fast pitch softball for many years and was known for his 70 mph pitches. He enjoyed art, drawing, roller-skating for over 50 years, hunting, fishing, swimming and waterskiing over the years. He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Chaplain Dale Goetz; and 9 unborn grandchildren. Charles is survived by his son, Chad (Jennifer) Moen of Cohasset, MN; daughter, Christina (Jonathan) Bixby of Franktown, CO; grandchildren, Cara Bixby, John Bixby, Nathan Bixby, Landon Goetz, Arielle Bixby, Caleb Goetz, Eliana Bixby, Jeremiah Bixby, Gilead Bixby, Joel Goetz; Levi, Miles and Tatum Moen; and many friends.
