Carol M. Huffer, age 85, was gently lifted away by her Lord on Monday, March 13, 2017. She was a resident of the Manor House in Grand Rapids. Carol was born to Louis and Minnie Smith on February 12, 1932 in Little Falls, MN. Her family moved to the Grand Rapids area, and she was married to Alan John Huffer on October 29, 1949. She loved and was devoted to her family. She was always happiest at family events such as birthday parties, holidays, and picnics. Carol also loved to cook, bake, decorate cakes, sew, crochet and work in the garden. In her later years she loved to plant and nurture her flowers. She never went anywhere without her camera and won numerous ribbons at the fair for her photography. After her children were in school, she also worked at Kremer's, Goldfine's, and National foods. Carol's devotion to the Lord was a huge part of her life. She greatly enjoyed worshipping at the Grace Bible Chapel and visiting her many friends at church. Carol was preceded in death by her husband Alan, and brothers Donald Smith and Dale Smith. Carol is survived by her son Harry (Trudy) Huffer of rural Bovey, daughter Dee (David) Warren of Grand Rapids, son Robert (Debbie) Huffer of Loxley, AL, and son James (Della) Huffer of Des Moines, IA, by 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Adeline Hill of Brownsville, TX, brother David (Jan) Smith of Grand Rapids, sister Shirley (Keith) Stitt of Calumet, MN, sister Kathleen Smith of Grand Rapids, sister-in-law Shirley Smith of Cloquet, MN, sister-in-law Faith Erven of Ignacio, CO, and brother-in-law Ken Huffer of Payson, AZ. Visitation is at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 20, 2017 until the 11:00 AM Funeral Service with a luncheon fellowship following at Grace Bible Chapel, 2452 Co Rd 76, Grand Rapids, MN 55744. Pastor Greg Rhodea will officiate. Interment in Itasca-Calvary Cemetery. See online family guestbook at www.andrews-libbeyfh.com.
