Calvin Burger Darnell passed away April 14, 2010. Calvin Burger Darnell passed away April 14, 2010. He was born December 6, 1923 at Holdrege, Nebraska and served in the U.S. Navy in WWII. Cal is joined by death to his first wife, Ethel Mae; parents, Guyda and Lester Darnell; sister Bessie Fear; stepson, James Butts; and stepdaughter, Patsy Stolt. He will be greatly missed by his wife Eileen; daughters, Guyda Darnell and Linda (Kenneth) Trembath; son-in-law, Dale Stolt; grandchildren Kari (Michael) Tholkes, Chad Stolt, Craig Trembath, Brian (Linnzi) Trembath, David (Julie) Trembath, and Andrew (Amanda) Trembath; great-grandchildren, Victoria, Alexander, Ayden, and Vivian; stepchildren, Vernon (Cindy) Schroeder, Jeri (Chris) Kobberdahl, Teresa (Jim) Spicer, and Angie (Torrey) Johnson and their families. The family would like to thank all those who have been involved in Cal's life, including 4-H and the Agricultural Extension Service, Endion Trailer Club, Blandin Paper Company, bowling and card playing friends, and the members of Warba Presbyterian Church. The family would also like to acknowledge the support and kindness of the staff at Grand Itasca Clinic, River Grand, Grand Village, and St. Mary's Itasca Hospice.
